Heraklion Guide

The Best proposes you a visit to one of the most beautiful and unique places in Crete concerning the magnificent world of our Mediterranean sea. It'll be more than interesting especially if you travel with children.
This is where your experience exploring the Mediterranean sea world begins. Come face to face with hundreds of species and thousands of living organisms. Be fascinated by their behaviour as they reveal the wide variety of shapes, colors, habits and needs of their own world. Learn about them and reflect on what our common future may be.
The access to the Cretaquarium is really easy. The building complex is located half way along the Heraklion prefecture section of the Crete North Coast Road, in the bounds of the former American Base at Gournes, Heraklion. Nikos Kazantzakis International Airport and Heraklion city are 14 km to the West, the Municipalities of Hersonissos and Malia are 12 and 14 km east and the archaeological site at Knossos lies 20 km to the Southwest. The aquarium building lies about 100m from a long sandy bathing beach.
